Re: Context-sensitive Substitution

Many thanks Erwin. As a retired person who does the occasional specific job for charities, I can't justify the cost of an upgrade - especially as simple additional glyphs work fine in my current version. Thanks for your help and for taking the trouble to reply.

Re: Context-sensitive Substitution

Hi while I now understand the aim of this code, I have failed to get it to compile. I had to make a couple of changes ... I added the calt feature to the script features I changed 'by' to '->' to match existing code that worked. I removed trailing names after the '}' on the subroutines as the compil...

Duplicate font deletion

I have worked around this problem for now, but would like to understand it better. (Win11 64bit) Advice would be welcome. I have a sync'd folder ' foreign ' containing two subfolders ' adobe foreign ' and ' arabic ' on my local D: drive For historical reasons the font family Adobe Arabic was stored ...

Context-sensitive Substitution

Apologies if already answered but I cannot see how to do this. Pointers welcome. In one of my fonts it uses < f shaped s> . This should become< snake s > at the end of a word or in combination as a double s. That is if followed by space, period,s etc I am failing to see how to express <fshaped s><pe...

Re: Test TTF/OTF fails V9.1 pro Win10

The fonts I have manipulated in the past have been fine (such as 'Little Lord Fontleroy' to which I added ligatures for work on some posters). I thought I would try some 'respectable' fonts ( that is, not open source etc ) and I find that some fonts that came with Illustrator do not work - Adobe Cas...

Re: Test TTF/OTF fails V9.1 pro Win10

Yes, that is what I intended to do - and thank you for for confirming I was going to do it the right way. My problem is with the Test as TTF/OTF action. In the attached image, in the Open Type screen, the font shows correctly; in the test window it shows as Arial or similar. That is before I made an...

Re: Test TTF/OTF fails V9.1 pro Win10

Thanks for the offer ... FCP attached
As a one-person outfit I have to watch the pennies and don't want to spend on upgrade unless sure that is the problem!

regards

Test TTF/OTF fails V9.1 pro Win10

I wish to add a ligature table to an open source font so I do not have to select them manually for each instance. The Test TTF/OTF command - which has worked fine for me on several fonts to adjust kerning etc - fails to use the open font and defaults to some standard sans font. Is there something th...
