Re: Fonts don't work when installed, stop working after reboot
Better uninstall both original and modified version of these fonts, then reboot, and reinstall the modified versions. We strongly recommend to use a font manager like MainType to manage your fonts. Maybe other caching issues are related to the tools you use. To make sure that is not the cause, do t...

Re: Adding new glyphs to pair adjustments
I would not add them to existing classes, nor even create new classes. Just add new pairs wherever they are needed. IPA glyphs only pair with each other. Thanks for the reply, Bhikkhu. (I watched your instructional video on YouTube before having a start at this, too--very helpful.) The only thing i...

Adding new glyphs to pair adjustments
I'm working with two existing fonts (Alegreya Regular and Alegreya Sans Regular), and I've added phonetic glyphs to each font. I want to improve the kerning, but this aspect of font creation is new to me and I'm not really sure the best way to go about it. The upshot is that IPA symbols only go with...

Fonts don't work when installed, stop working after reboot
I used FontCreator 14 Home to modify two existing fonts (Alegreya Regular and Alegreya Sans Regular), adding some needed IPA glyphs. I first edited Alegreya Regular, exported the font, and installed it with the installer file (not with the wizard in FC). I opened a document in a test generating soft...

FontCreator Hotkeys -- Keyboard Shortcuts
Sometimes, using the keyboard is just easier. As a "labor of love", as they say, I wrote a script (wrapped in a .exe for distributability) with nearly 100 additional hotkeys to facilitate our working with the wonderful FontCreator software. It's entirely free, Open Source, and it's ready f...

FontCreator Hotkeys v.1.0.0 launch!
With a desire to get more out of my FontCreator experience, I used AutoHotkey to script up a massive number of hotkeys. After spending so much time working on it, I thought it would be most worthwhile to share it with anyone else who might find it useful. After two hard weeks of working on it (I'm n...

Re: Differentiating Anchor Types
Thanks for your response! Yes, I did read that, and all the other instances of "anchor" in the documentation. But none of it explained (at least, as far as I could glean) how to assign anchors from the Add Anchor tool in glyph edit mode. I have the option to add a "base" or "...

Differentiating Anchor Types
I don't understand the proper application of the anchor types "mark" and "base". Does a "base" anchor only go on the base glyph, and the "mark" anchor only on the mark glyph? Or do you put a "mark" anchor on the base glyph to show where the mark sits...

Re: Clearing multi‑mapped glyphs
Sounds great, thank you!
And good advice to work on a copy and back‑up the progress regularly.
I think I need to get cracking...I've got over a thousand glyphs to edit!
If, in the course of things, I figure anything out, I will send an update.
Thanks once again!

Re: Clearing multi‑mapped glyphs
Super! So I just copy all the glyphs as you just mentioned, and then I'll have to manually go through each one to delete the redundant codepoints?
Just want to make sure I understand (before I go and screw up my project!)
Thanks again!

Re: Clearing multi‑mapped glyphs
Thanks for your quick reply!
I thought about that method, but the only problem is I'm looking at 426 multi‑mapped glyphs...some of them have up to five or six codepoints. Any suggestions for how to speed up the process?

Clearing multi‑mapped glyphs
I'm working in a font in which many of the glyphs are multi‑mapped to each other. I can't figure out how to separate them into their own glyphs so that deleting or modifying one won't affect the others. For example, A is mapped to $41, $0391, $0410, $13AA, $E740, $102A0. If I delete $41, all the oth...
