Re: How can I make a perpendicular cut?

Thanks again, Bhikkhu,

In the end, it was easier for me to make a cut from my line, set it 90deg upright, make my modifications, set it back to the angle I need and paste it onto the original line (followed by union contours...).

Re: How can I make a perpendicular cut?

Thanks for your reply, Bhikkhu,

I was hoping all this would be easier to do (given I'm not on FC14 anyway). I guess I'll have to use my best visual judgment.

How can I make a perpendicular cut?

Hi,

I'm working with FC13 and I'm trying to make a perpendicular cut with my glyph. I've tried the shift Alt keys but they don't seem to reveal a perpendicular result. For that matter, can one elongate a line (like that shown in the gif) so that it retains its angle? Is any of this possible?

Re: New font version does not overwrite previous

Thank you PJ and Erwin, for your replies. As I'm more concerned about how my intended end-user experiences the installation process of the updated font in question, I fear the best and easiest solution is to (sadly) instruct them to first uninstall their previous font installation (on either the Mac...

New font version does not overwrite previous

Hello, I seem to be having an issue where an updated font version does not properly overwrite and take precedence over an existing (older) installation with the same font family name. The new font version was created on FC version 13 (.2683). Between the two, the font's family name (Full Font Name) ...

Re: center align text ?

Thanks for moving the thread, Bhikkhu.

Apologies for bumping this up. Shall I assume that there's no easy way to do what I'm asking within the confines of Open Type rules?

center align text ?

Hi, Is there an Open Type feature that will mimic text center alignment? Effectively, I'd like to program some Open Type rules whereby text entered after a target character gets repositioned and centered below preceding text. This repositioned text could be one or more characters. So, I'm really try...

efficient way to mirror rules and pairs for a duplicate character?

So here's my problem: I have dozens of pairs, rules and routines that reference a particular letter. Let's suppose this letter is P. I am now faced with having to duplicate this letter to facilitate several other routines in my font. Let's call the duplicate P2. Question is: Aside from the obvious t...

Re: undo within OTD...please?

And, if I've been working within the OTD window for a while, before saving, and deleted something by mistake, my only recourse is to exit the OTD and undo from there. This, obviously, undoes all of my work and is subsequently, lost. That is why there is an Apply button. Use it from time to time, th...

[FIXED] filtered selection, not actually selected for shift-click?

Hello again, When adding members to a class, it seems that filtering a selection does indeed hard-select that single member, and makes adding it simple. However, if your intention is to shift click a group of members, then that filtered selection needs to be hard-clicked (reselected) prior to shift ...

undo within OTD...please?

Hello, I can't tell you how many times I wanted to click the add (+) icon, only to miss and hit the minus instead...thus removing an item, feature or otherwise that was unintended. And, if I've been working within the OTD window for a while, before saving, and deleted something by mistake, my only r...

Re: OTD search bar, preview text selection, copy/paste and praise!

We have just released another update, coming with support for drag and drop for lookups in the OpenType Designer. Nice job, also, on the addition of "duplicate" lookup. It's very handy and I especially appreciate the fact that it adds the duplicate in place. This is a behavior you may wan...

Re: real time rendering engine is still problematic

The shaping engine has improved significantly over the years, and we are constantly improving it based on both our own findings and user feedback. You are making a font with the most complex OpenType layout features we have ever seen, so we understand the importance for you to use a perfect shaping...

real time rendering engine is still problematic

Hello, Something must have broke along the way between the last few updates... I'm seeing more and more visual issues with FC13's real time rendering window when compared to a web browser's (correct) output. Forgive my ignorance, but is there any chance FC will ever have real time rendering that mat...
