Re: Using Code Editor removes all Base anchors

Just added Anchor Based Positioning to the OT Features by clicking the button in the top left corner, like you suggested, and that solved the problem. All the marks I created were automatically added to the features code and when I pressed Ok everything was fine. The amount of code has almost double...

Re: Using Code Editor removes all Base anchors

Isn't the automatic removal of unrelated code without an explicit request of or approval by the user always undesired? There's probably a technical reason why you've decided to do this but from a practical point of view it's not only a mystery but also extremely impractical. Why would you force user...

[FIXED] Using Code Editor removes all Base anchors

For positioning all diacritical marks in my font, I use anchors. All anchors are positioned in such a way that I never have to adjust the positioning of individual marks. Using Complete Composites > Anchor Based will get it right every time. Whenever I use the Code Editor (in the Open Type Designer)...

Re: Multiple metrics values in 1 font

It will undoubtedly work, and as such it is a good solution. But removing the suffix means that other features (in FontCreator or other software) may no longer function properly. Just as an example, I noticed that FontLab automatically recognizes that A.ss01 is a variant of A, and automatically tags...

Re: Multiple metrics values in 1 font

That is indeed a solution, but also a bit of a hack
I fear it may lead to other problems that may even be bigger than this one.

But thanks, I appreciate the suggestion

As you can see, three guidelines are duplicated. It's not a big problem, but because all guidelines have the same color it is confusing. Since this is a handwriting font, it's undesirable to maintain exact and uniform heights and positions, inevitably leading to multiple guidelines.

Re: Multiple metrics values in 1 font

The manual seems to suggest that these additional guidelines are added automatically, based on whether glyph names contain certain suffixes. Is that correct? Or is there a way to switch off these suffix related guidelines? I assume that the only other altermative is switching off the specific guidel...

Multiple metrics values in 1 font

I've just upgraded Fontcreator from version 11 to 14 and now I find one of my fonts has different values for a number of metrics. A problem that did not occur in v. 11. The font uses glyph variants, so every character has a standard glyph, an .ss01 version and a .ss02 version. After I moved from Fon...
