Re: screenshot

yeah, what I'm still missing is (as suggested here: http://forum.high-logic.com/viewtopic.php?f=45&t=6000&p=27343) an improved sample pane. being able to have several of them displayed at once with their own setting for: size, margins, line-height , colors,... would be even better. That way ...

Re: Characters pane glyph selection not kept when switching font

yes, that would already be a welcome improvement.
I suppose matching the same character would be a step further (not knowing if that's even possible)

Characters pane glyph selection not kept when switching font

whenever I select a font the selected glyph in the Characters pane (and consequently in the Zoom pane) is reset to the first entry 0x00. (which is almost always empty)
It would be so much better if (like in the character mode) the glyph selection would be maintained between fonts

Ok, would some kind of margin be part of the little parameters it offers, and if yes, would you consider adding some default margin to it ?

right now this is hurting me plenty...

• Sample pane small improvements - for a huge difference

I find the sample pane to do a poor job at providing a realistic paragraph/block of text preview and I'm having a very hard time to evaluate the quality of a font for a block of text usage with it. Here are 2 suggestion that would make a great difference: ⋅ Allow us to specify margin/paddi...

Re: refresh performance of a large font folder

I think you should organise your font collection so that MainType only has to refresh those folders that are likely to change. My font library is tightly organized, it consist of OTF files only, structured like so: + FONT LIBRARY | + FoundryName | | + FamilyName | | | FontName-bold.otf | | | FontNa...

Re: refresh performance of a large font folder

ok, but isn't there room for improvement here ?
most library manager (be it music or pictures) even when dealing with large libraries don't impose a 7 minutes delay every time you import new items.

refresh performance of a large font folder

My main font library is quite large (around 100k fonts) it's added via a single "keep in sync" folder set to manual refresh mode. whenever I refresh the whole folder via CTRL-R or individual subfolders via either the button "synchronize the selected font folder" in the group pane...

maintype database backup and Active fonts

I recently did a clean windows install, before that I did a maintype db backup. My problem is: I had a large amount of fonts installed i my previous windows install.(yes I was lazy and that was the way I "bookmarked" fonts from my main library) I was hoping to somehow get hold of that sele...

Re: Issue with adding new fonts to 'Group' folders

You can also recreate the groups structure after refreshing the font folder. creategroups.png Note: it will not replace your current groups, so in this case it is probably best to delete the former groups. It really didn't occur to me that I could right click the items in that list. I assume that t...
