Re: Location of Kerning and Transform folders

As I said earlier, it would be most helpful if the user could specify the folder to be used. Let the installer create it in the default location, but add a 'File locations' option in the program preferences.

Re: Location of Kerning and Transform folders

Thanks very much for the help. It would seem to be a matter of semantics and/or translation. So "original folder' is the last used folder ('used' in the sense of loading or saving a script), not the folder created by the installer. Again, thanks. PS: My "issue" is that Drive C, the OS...

Re: Location of Kerning and Transform folders

By "in the same original folder", do you mean the folder created by the installer? If so, this means that I really CAN'T change the folder, because you're going to try to use the original folder when I save a new script. If I'm right, I hope you will change this, though I realize it may no...

Location of Kerning and Transform folders

I've installed Font Creator 9 on my new Windows 10 PC. It has an SSD (256 GB) and a large hard drive (2TB). Font Creator's Install program put its KERNING and TRANSFORM folders in the Documents folder that Windows 10 created on the SSD. I want to put the KERNING and TRANSFORM folders on that hard dr...

Crash with HL Fonthandler Plugin for InDesign [Solved]

I am running Windows 7-64bit and InDesign CS5. For me, the HLFontHandler plug-in for InDesign was a complete disaster   !!! Whenever I tried to open an existing IndD document that used uninstalled fonts, InDesign would crash. I spent 2 days figuring out the problem: I uninstalled all rec...

Re: Enhance the Font Validation Wizard and Validation Toolba

I'm not going into too much technical detail. If you want to know more, contact me privately. Here is a self intersecting contour with just four points, that obviously has an unknown direction. Yes, I see the problem with that example. If the first point is at the upper left corner, and the contour...

How do I download FiFoFo ?

I've seen mention of a utility, Fix Font Folder, and one of the messages said it could be downloaded from the download page. I don't find any link there -- only links for FC5.6 and MainType 2.2,

I hope I understand your question. I don't edit from the Font Validation report, but use it as a list of the individual glyphs which need work. What I am trying to eliminate is the need to save that list to a file and print it out or write down the glyph numbers by hand, and to have to move from, s...

Re: Enhance the Font Validation Wizard and Validation Toolba

This might be useful indeed. But it might lead to confusion, as fixing one glyph, might also fix other glyphs, but might also lead to problems with other glyphs. The opposite is also true, and there are probably more scenarios. So how to handle that? First, one could point out these issues in the m...

Enhance the Font Validation Wizard and Validation Toolbar

RE the Font Validation Wizard (and the Validatation Toolbar): Make the Wizard's Report non-modal (i.e. you don't have to dismiss this dialog before you can do anything else). This would allow the user to double-click on the line that identifies a bad contour and bad point. Doing so would take you to...

Yes, that's what I discovered. I'll have to try W and see if it does the same thing.

You didn't do what I said. This was a very simple example, where you can find a different single path that will encircle only the desired points. I tried to describe lassoing 4 different groups of points, by dragging out 4 circles around them. But what if you wanted to select, say, 2 points on the o...

I think the idea is that you keep the mouse down until you have selected all of the points that you want to. I can't get this to work. Let's say I am working with the plus sign -- very simple: 12 points, 8 at the ends of the 4 "arms", and 4 in the center where the arms cross; I want to de...

Using the Q and A keys you can cycle through the nodes very quickly to delete a few unwanted nodes. I assume you mean Q and W rather than Q and A, no? I have been using these keys to "walk" the curve. But since the Help and Manual talk about using Q and W to select the previous or next po...
