Both files you sent to me work just fine.

Make sure you have typed upper case "A" and "B" in the text field to see your creation. It won't work if you are typing lower case characters.

Any mouse pointer will do, as long as the 'hit point' (usually the end of the arrow) is correctly defined by the designer of the mouse pointer.

Apple does not have a Unicode Encoding ID as Microsoft does. Therefore Mac computers rely on Platform ID 0 (Unicode) for doing Unicode fonts as the primary source for their cmap table.

Times New Roman includes mappings for the Unicode, Macintosh and Microsoft platform.

Could you be more specific, what characters are not visible? Did this occur after you modified the font or are using the Font Creator Program to fix this problem?

The TrueType font file specification tells us that contours that need to be filled black must have a clockwise direction. If we want to make a white area inside an existing contour we must make the direction of the new contour counter clockwise. See TrueType fundamentals from Microsoft for more info...
