This may not help a whole lot but you should know that in Illustrator, you can go to FILE/EXPORT and save your .ai file as bitmap or many other options. Still, there is a lot of adjusting to do, once you import back into Font Creator.

image importing

I can make a suitable vector image in Fireworks or Illustrator to use as a glyph. When I import the graphic into Font Creator 4 (I believe it must be rastor based), it is distorted with too few or too many nodes that make its curves either polygonal or scalloped. Thanks for the great information. I have other drawing programs that use bezier curves and perhaps could use them somewhat in creating bitmaps to import. With the information you gave, I think I will buy Font Creator now and maybe Fontographer later. Again, thank you for the help.

I am trying out Font Creator. I currently use another more primitive font editing program. I want to upgrade to something better and Font Creator seems easy enough to use.
