What is possible is to double-click a glyph in the overview to open a new glyph edit window, copy the glyph, close the glyph edit window, then paste it into the glyph edit window. In Tools, Options, Samples, select the font you want to copy bits from, and view the samples toolbar (F12). You can drag and drop glyphs from that into the glyph edit window. Even better, make your own sample font with just the contours or glyphs that you wish to reuse in the current font. Thanks, ...

One more, while I'm here! I would really appreciate if the Cut Contours tool would stop at 45 degrees as well as 90 when you hold Shift.

Similarly, it would be cool if the manual rotation (using the mouse) would function a similar way (holding Shift to stop it every 45 degrees).

Have to admit I also keep trying to do Ctrl-Scroll to zoom in/out - this is fast becoming a standard across all Windows apps (e.g. MS Office since Office 2003, Firefox, IE, ...)

I agree too - a freehand tool would be really great, especially with a graphics tablet. Though the quicker image import in v6 makes it easier to quickly construct a face from glyphs drawn in external apps.
