Re: MainType 4.0 freezes while Processing Font Operations
We've had this issue mentioned only once before but it happened very randomly. If possible we want to investigate this problem with you, I have just sent you an e-mail with further information.

Re: can I manually select which duplicates to install/load
Maintype only installs the fonts you select, so if you only want to install the TT version of your font simply only select the TT version. You can create a group containing only one version of the family and install/uninstall that group. If you only want one type of a font on your system you could d...

Re: questions about vault for MT4
No, the vault files are in a proprietary format and cannot be opened with "vinvault".

Re: Garbled fonts in Maintype 4
There was a small bug in the original release that presented itself in very rare circumstances and caused the wrong fonts to appear in a folder. A complete uninstall and updating to the latest version is the best solution.

It's even easier than that... just hit the refresh button on the main toolbar (or press CTRL+R).

Re: Restoring a deleted font
Howdy. New to MainType, and to font managers in general. I've tried out several today, and so far this one has definitely been the easiest to use and the most effective. Love the interface, very slick. Anyways, on to my question. I clicked on one of my groups and deleted a font using the option &qu...

Re: Deleted Fonts Still Appear in Font Library
I have six copies of the same font in my Font Library. Only one is still on my hard disk, and none are installed. After editing the OTF version to correct the date information, I deleted all of the others from Windows Explorer, but even an older version is still listed in the library along with fiv...

Re: Deleting from file system: which font version(s)?
Hello, I'm just evaluating version 4.0 of MainType. When deleting fonts in the file system, it is said that "MainType will delete the font from all the locations it knows about." I guess that only applies to the marked version of the font, not to all versions? For example, I have four Ari...

Re: Un-ignore deleted fonts
In MainType 4, it should be possible to un-ignore fonts that have previously been deleted fom MainType (see http://forum.high-logic.com/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=3568). Otherwise it seems impossible to reintroduce (accidentally) deleted fonts. Cheers, Jan MainType gives you 2 dialogs before deleting...

Re: Search for duplicate and invalid fonts
When importing fonts, a list is shown that tells me how many duplicate and invalid resources have been encountered. What can I do with this information? MainType 4 doesn't let me search for duplicates or invalid fonts... I have several thousand fonts, should I check them one by one? :? Cheers, Jan ...

Re: Better backup procedure
It would be nice if it was possible to make backups from within MainType 4. FmsConfig should be accessible from within the MainType GUI - it would be okay if MainType itself was closed after calling FmsConfig. It would be nice if there was a way to schedule backups, too. For example, a backup could...

Re: How to add fonts to groups?
I docked the Views and the Groups pane together so I can switch between them by clicking on a tab. Once a group is selected, I can't switch from the Views to the Groups pane without changing the View pane (the one showing the fonts) - it then shows the contents of the group, and it's not possible t...

Re: Show file locations
In MainType 4, I'd like to be able to view the file locations of the fonts in the database. As written in another thread, I have different versions of some fonts in different folders, and I'd really like to be able to know which font is placed in which directory, so I can delete fonts more selectiv...

Re: Deleting Text Sample Removes Fonts From Group
Confirmed bug. The delete key appears to trigger the wrong operation depending on which panel is focused. Will be fixed in the next release.
