Glyph preview with stylistic set info

Quite a few OpenType fonts nowadays contain various alternative glyphs for characters, for example, alternative forms of 'a' and 'g', contained in stylistic sets. These glyphs can be seen in the character set pane when glyph view is activated. However, the only way to find out how to access such a g...

Editing OpenType Stylistic Sets

Which version of Font Creator do I need to manipulate OpenType Stylistic Sets? For example, I have a font which contains an alternate letter 'g' at a Private Use code point, but I would rather have it in one of the Stylistic Sets where Word 2010 can find it and spell-check it. Or I have a font with ...

Print All Glyphs?

Hello, I cannot seem to persuade MainType (5.1) to print a character set containing ALL the glyphs in a font (i.e. including those without a code-point, like the OpenType small caps and stylistic alternative glyphs). It only prints the character set by unicode block, even if I click the 'G' symbol i...

Re: Small Caps Font Generator (from Opentype font)

It is already possible by a simple use of copy paste. Open the font with the Small Capital Glyphs Select and copy them to the clipboard (assuming they're already in A-Z order) Select the lowercase glyphs Paste (glyph contours and metrics are copied by default) overwriting the existing glyphs Delete...

Re: Failed to open attached ttf font

OK, you convinced me... I now have 6.5 (and yes, it opens the big version of Calibri)!

Re: Failed to open attached ttf font

You can freely update from 5.5 to 5.6 if you wish (get version 5.6 here ) Thanks... but that link goes to the "Retrieve lost registration code(s)" page... or if you want to move forward do consider upgrading to version 6.5 . I have 5.5 Professional version. To upgrade would cost $99. I'm ...

Re: Failed to open attached ttf font

The error message I see is similar to the one shown in the first post - it tells me that the file "cannot be identified as a font file" when I try to open it (FontCreator 5.5, Windows XP). As I said, it affects only the recent, large version of the font, in all four varieties (regular, bol...

Re: Failed to open attached ttf font

I also had this error message when attempting to open a font of the Calibri family. After digging out old versions, it look like the problem starts with the larger version of Calibri which comes with later versions of MS Office. This is version 5.62 from 2008, containing 2157 characters / 3874 glyph...

Small Caps Font Generator

I would like to request a Small Caps font generation feature. Background: many OpenType fonts contain a set of true Small Caps glyphs which OpenType compatible applications can see and use, instead of cheating by shrinking the normal glyphs which looks awful. Unfortunately, although a few affordable...
