How to set bold variants?

I've made regular and bold variants of a font and marked the tick box in the metrics tab of format / settings. The two versions have the same name but for the word 'bold' but what have I missed as the bold one does not appear as bold when I use the font?

Yes, well done Joe. The calculate sometimes goes higher. I like using a commercial font to to start with then change the glyphs to my own because FCP updates all the glyphs with marks over them automatically. Good stuff, Erwin.

Tried that

I did try that but still no change. My work around is to use another font with the right height and change al the glyphs to mine.

Nodes in 4.5

I'm sorry to say that deleting nodes or making them into 'off curve' makes the curve go badly out of shape. Glyph making is therefore much harder to do than in the earlier builds. Bitmap import is much better, though, but if I can't use the nodes like I could before, I'll have to go back to an earli...

Changing letter height

I've found that on all fonts I make, the relative heights of the letters on-screen change with different point sizes. For example, 'e' will be shorter than 'm' in 10pt but taller in 16pt. How do I fix this, as it makes my fonts no good as screen fonts or in bitmap graphics. They all print at the rig...

Mac fonts

You need something like Fontlab's Transfont, which makes PC into Mac fonts. Mac OSX can read PC fonts.

Character set

How do you call up the letters that are beyond the 0255 mark? I have a font with a character shown as $FB01 in 'Mappings' but how do I get to it in, say, Word?
