Re: Why script cannot complete work?

In Dutch, the apostrophe is used to indicate omitted characters. Many advertisements are written in Word, and result in smart quotes that are incorrect. Most people won't notice it, but we seen them everywhere, even on national TV. Here is one from a tennis club: smartquotestennis.jpg It should say...

Re: format of posts to the forum

Above the box in which I put this text is a row of buttons: B, i, u, Quote … If I am tempted to use the first button to make text bold it does not have this effect. Instead it inserts “open-square-bracket b close-square-bracket” before, and “open-square-bracket solidus b close-square-bracket” after...

Oops, indeed! It should, of course, say "Archive is corrupted". :P

Which version of MainType do you have?

Re: Test Language Specific OpenType Features

The test page uses an old version, which may actually be useful since it illustrates that the order of lookups is important. There is a previous thread discussing the topic of OpenType Feature precedence . Thanks for the link. My latest version of Mandala does not suffer from the above problem. How...

Re: Test Language Specific OpenType Features

In the Mandala font used on the sample page, the 'dlig' feature is applied first, so in the line
Ordinals: 1st 2nd 3rd

the 'st' is replaced by a discretionary ligature, preventing the 'ordn' feature from working as expected.

Not if you link it to the target web page (instead of leaving this forum's software to interpret it as an email address as its format suggests): unicode@unicode.org

Re: Quest text 2017 font for experimental chess encoding

Here is the OpenType code that I used. I do not know whether liga is the correct table to use, but I used it as I knew that I was able to easily test the font in Serif PagePlus X7 if I used liga. Although you could use other OpenType features, liga is probably the safest bet. Fonts such as Apple Sa...

Re: Comic Sans Day - Celebrate the Most Hated Font ;-)

In the Netherlands the first Friday of July is Comic Sans day. And since this is the first Friday of April, that day is exactly thirteen weeks away. Coincidentally, July 7th is also Chocolate Day, Tell the Truth Day and Global Forgiveness Day! Some Dutch companies have their website in Comic ...

Re: Engraving Font

I'm wondering what the process would be to try to edit it well enough so it does get recognized by a program like that I put the image in the centre of a larger canvas in an image editor, and then applied a 'rectangular to polar' distortion followed by a threshold adjustment which allowed me to cre...

I can only echo what Mike has said.

By a curious coincidence, the list of similar fonts on Identifont.com includes Stuart Sandler's 'Chicken Basket', but apart from the name it isn't a good match for these samples.
