• Window Memory in Kerning Addition
This may only be valuable to my way of working, but I've noticed that I often return to the same area in the "add kerning pairs" window. I had a number of pairings with curly quotes this morning that needed special attention. But returning to the "add" window requires scrolling d...

Entering superscripts in Comparison View
Is there a way to enter superscripts (and other symbols) in comparison view. I can get smart quotes in by pasting from another program, but superscripts revert to simple numbers.

Re: Missing a Kerning Step?
I never actually export fonts. I always install from FC into the Windows Font Folder, and then delete it and reinstall when I need to revise it. I guess I'll "wear out" that fonts folder eventually  Here's what the problem was: PagePlus has a check box for kerning, but also a "Ke...

Re: Missing a Kerning Step?
Bingo! It's working now. I must not have had my tongue set to the correct corner of my mouth when I clicked the install button.

Re: Missing a Kerning Step?
P.S. The only characters actually in the font I attached are A F W y . , and " (actually the double smart quote, not the inch). I stripped it down to the only characters I applied any kerning pairs settings to. Kerning is between AW F, ". I knew I was in trouble when the , didn't slide und...

Re: Missing a Kerning Step?
WordPerfect does the same thing. But Page Plus is what I do my publishing with. So could it be something about the way Windows is seeing my font in the Windows font folder?

Re: Missing a Kerning Step?
Wow! I have the latest version of X7. If I couldn't get the kerning on other fonts to work in the same text box, I would think it was a setting in PP. But I put three other kerned fonts in the same text box and they kern and "unkern" as I change the setting on the format text>character>spa...

Missing a Kerning Step?
I guess I'd better ask before I pull out the rest of my hair. I followed the video tutorial in this forum on using the open type kerning dialogue. I just changed a few pairs to make sure I had the right idea. Haven't gotten past that since I can't get it to work. I've tried the font in a program (Se...

Re: Clearing glyph contents for a range...
Thank you. Don't know how I missed that. Saw 'clear selection', but evidently fell asleep before I looked further down. I see the 'make simple' now, and there have been a few times I would have used that, too.

Clearing glyph contents for a range...
Is there a way to clear the contents of glyphs without actually deleting the glyph. I needed to clear the contents of all the caps today, and couldn't find a way to do it without opening each one, selecting the contour(s), deleting, and then then closing the glyph.

Re: Colorize help
I duplicated my problem: -Started new font. -Opened a glyph (number nine in this case). -Right clicked contour and chose 'colorize' from context menu ----(I think I was going for the background color at the time, which I now use frequently, but just wasn't thinking straight). -Character turned blue....

Re: My vote for shortcuts
That makes sense, because some characters can't be used in a filename. Thanks loads Bhikkhu.

Re: My vote for shortcuts
Lol... That's better than a shortcut. I guess I need to file caps and minuscule in separate folder since 'a' would rename 'A'. Can I just have them alphabetized with any names and drop them in the first position (for example, starting with the '!')? Or, do they have to actually have the name associa...
