Re: Smallcaps suggestions?

My small cap ligatures look no different than the single letters next to each other. I did it this way so that when people enable ligatures or disable them, the small caps remain looking as they ought. And it makes for copying text and pasting it from one app to another for less issues. Be that as i...

Re: Smallcaps suggestions?

I opted to have small cap versions of all my ligs instead. But I do decompose for other purposes. Works well.

Re: Smallcaps suggestions?

Ligatures are one of the OT features that is on by default in applications that adhere to the OT spec. You have a couple choices. Add the same ligs using your small cap characters and sub them in. Or, use a Multiple Substitution lookup and swap out the lig for the plain SC characters. This is what I...

Re: Nutso font doesn’t work correctly

What I pointed to is an Illustrator file. Just download and open it. That file available is all I would be uploading.

I have no idea what MathMagic has to do with any of this.

Yep, I've not only watched your progress, but I did respond once in it near the end.

Sorry, I meant Title Case...

Feel free when you create new work to post images of the works, maybe in the General section. I like such things and I think it goes to promoting FC.

Re: Naming (and font properties) for a font family

You're most welcome, Psymon! Naming in all caps or sentence case--or any other way--is entirely up to you. With such a short word (Alde/ALDE), all caps wouldn't bother my designer side a bit. With longer words, especially multiple words, all caps does get a bit jarring. I personally like sentence ca...

Re: Naming (and font properties) for a font family

I scrunch them together on the Family name field, but it is not necessary. If I hit the Bold button I wouldn't expect the blackletter to be activated. But that's up to you! You can (likely should) leave all other naming fields alone below the top two. As regards the Sample text, I have no idea if th...

Re: Naming (and font properties) for a font family

One needs to use the Extended tab and also use the naming fields properly on the Naming tab. A few applications will disregard those naming fields as regards keeping the fonts as a separate listing. So for your: - Alde Romane; - Alde Italick; - Alde Paltrye Cappes; and - Alde Blacke Magick. I would ...

It can be done. Though I wouldn't do the blackletter in the style grouping myself. But that's just me, perhaps.

Re: Naming (and font properties) for a font family

Why not add the small caps to the regular font and access them both using the small caps OT feature and as a stylistic set for those applications that cannot use the small caps feature versus as a separate font? If you like the Wicked... name, naming it Alde Wicked... would keep the font near the ot...

Re: Nutso font doesn’t work correctly

BTW,

That Illy template should have two text blocks in it. Use the frame that has the text showing in my screen shot above. Do not create a new text frame.

Re: Nutso font doesn’t work correctly

Is that the downloaded template? If I use that Illustrator template, there is no grid showing. capture-002347.png If you are using CC (I am using CS6), try downloading and installing CS6 and load the template. If that works, then there is an issue in whatever CC version you are using. At that point ...
