Re: Automatic re/creation of code-points
When I want unmapped glyphs, I use the Insert | Glyphs menu selection. When I am adding characters from a specific code block, I use the Insert | Characters menu selection and choose which ones I need. And if the is a section of contiguous glyphs, double-clicking on the first one, holding shift on t...

Re: WOFF 2.0 support
When working on a full set of fonts I use the Export All option, then delete the WOFF versions if I don't need them. For those fonts that don't need a WOFF version it would be better to disable WOFF export in the Export Settings. I also think None should be the default for new projects as probably ...

Re: IBM Flex Fonts Fail to Load
The problem is with my browser. The latest Vivaldi Snapshot is not getting the whole file for some reason. Downloading with Opera 12.18 works fine. In the past couple weeks, I have gotten incomplete downloads on large ZIP files on three separate occasions using Vivaldi's current public release. Sub...

Re: Restore from minimized to screen
I keep MainType running for months. Never need to close it. If you want MainType available then don’t close it. Do you minimize other software to the tray? Yes, Erwin, I do minimize other software to the tray...like the other FM I use. It's not the purposeful closure I care about, it's the accident...

Re: Restore from minimized to screen
Yep, it's the accidental shut down I care about. Vivaldi is currently using 185 megs of RAM and it is open most of the day unless I am doing something intensive in another application. RAM isn't an issue. I am in and out of several (to many more) documents in at least 3 applications through the day,...

Re: Restore from minimized to screen
Another font manager I have used for X number of years minimizes to the tray whether the minimize or close icon are clicked. And in a hurry, that [x] is a lot easier to hit. I can understand Erwin not desiring to do this. But it is handy and if there was a preference next to the preference to minimi...

Restore from minimized to screen
Currently when I use MT, I leave it running minimized, which goes into the system tray. When accessed from the system tray, MT is restored to the taskbar in a minimized state, which then requires to again select MT to have it up on the screen. I would like to see MT, after restoring from the system ...

Re: Old military font
Not an exact match, Bob. It does match fairly well with the text/numbers you provided but note that where the upper part of the Y joins the stem it is a bit higher.

Re: Adobe Indesign CS6 Plugin "crashes"
Hmm. I have tested CS6 (version 8.1) with the HL CS6 plugin and found it works well. I haven't had any issues in running ID with the plugin and I haven't found a document that didn't have the fonts installed following dismissing ID's missing font dialog. Typically on the Adobe forums, if there are p...

Re: Feature request: Font activation for Quark Xpress 2017
This seems like a bug in Quark Xpress 2017. Did you contact them or went to their forums to see if other people have similar issues with Quark Xpress 2017? OK. I am trialing MT and wanted to have a look at how QXP 2017 deals with (or not) loaded fonts. Only I couldn't because of exceeding the font ...

Re: Smallcaps suggestions?
Bear with me... What Apple did with the Mac throughout its history is both a blessing and a curse. That is, they really don't give a hoot about supporting old software unless their OS advancements simply allowed them to work. What Microsoft has done throughout its history until Windows 10 (mainly) i...

This is what I see in AI...note I also enlarged the /O character as my settings prefer this scale. capture-001581.png And here it is in FC after a copy/paste and moved the rest of the way into position: capture-001582.png The curve type has changed, but otherwise is pretty faithful. Re: Smallcaps suggestions?
The reason for a separate small cap font is just for those applications to be able to select it from the menu if they do not support a full-family listing and/or not support a small cap feature. Many/most recently made fonts do not provide separate fonts except by request. That I agree with. Yes, on...

Re: Smallcaps suggestions?
One could make a small cap font be part of a family, but one normally wouldn't want to do that. If an application doesn't support small caps--which is the only reason to break out the small caps to another font--then it likely only supports the 4 main styles (regular, italic, bold, bold italic). Bef...
