There are no limitations in the Trial Version. It is the fully featured Professional Edition. Did you edit the glyphs to make them bolder? The metric settings just tell Windows applications whether a font is to be treated as regular, bold, italic, or bold italic. A typeface like Times New Roman will...

Installed Font Used When Browsing
I made a cut-down version of my Verajja font for use on a PDA. It has only 905 glyphs instead of 1742. If I view the font in MainType, the Info pane shows 1742 glyphs and the missing glyphs are displayed in the characters pane. Obviously, MainType is displaying the installed font, not the selected f...

Just use the method the other way around. If your font already uses 2048 funits per em and you want to make it smaller by 10%: Backup your font and work on a copy Change the units per em to 2253 Select All, Copy Change the units per em back to 2048 Paste One can also use the glyph transformer, but t...

As long as the Logo is not too complex and you have a decent sized image to paste into FontCreator, it is very easy to convert it to a character and type it as part of a symbol font, or you can add it to a regular font to replace an unused symbol. See Importing Images in the online manual. Open the ...

See this thread on Resizing Fonts . I don't know why the space width is not changing. Maybe InDesign gets the space from some parameter for right to left fonts. All I can think of trying is Format, Settings, Ranges, Average Character Width, Calculate. You may have to change the version to 3 to do th...

As far as I know, Symbol font names will be displayed using a system font in Word's font list, while non symbol fonts will be displayed in the font's typeface. See the FontCreator manual on changing Unicode fonts to Symbol fonts. The size of the font is determined by Word or perhaps by Windows Appea...

No. I'm not aware of any parameter that determines stacking order in the font itself. I think the only way is to change the order so that the top character is last. This could be done with a negative side-bearing as with an overstrike character̅. An easier way would be to simply place the three comp...

Sorry for the slow response. I was fast asleep between 2:10 and 3:46 am. I'll try to get up earlier tomorrow. Check out the options on Tools, Options, Validation, where you can set the limits for real-time glyph validation. That way you can leave it on for most glyphs, but turn it off for complex gl...

The Babelstone Blog
Some of our members may find the Babelstone Blog interesting. Being a fan of Charles Dickens, I particularly enjoyed The Grand Old Trade of Basket-Making . Much of the rest is over my head, but if you have an interest in ancient manuscripts and old letter forms, you may find much there of interest. ...
