Welcome Steve C. I haven't had problems dealing with Open Type fonts (copying and moving them around on my desktop) under XP or ME. I've not tried to email them. Intuitively I wouldn't expect to have a problem there either. My limited understanding of Open Types is that Apple and Microsoft agree on ...

Hello Dave -- your Essay looks very sixteenth century Scottish! (How would I know?) Good work. Being a traditionalist I would make the 8 more like an 8 and less like a slashed 0. I would also shorten the tail on the I to make it obviously different from the J. But I don't know your design source. Yo...

Nice looking handwriting.

Just a couple of thoughts ...

1. Do other fonts work properly in AOL IM? Sounds like it's an IM thing. Talk to AOL for clarification.

Really only had one thought.

(I did see your vote. Thanks). Glad you are making progress. I'll bet you are getting faster and faster creating these shapes: "Experienced Font Fusser". If use of CharMap is acceptable, you could consider adding all the glyphs to a new font you build. You could copy/paste from an Arial or...

Boy you guys really are thinking ahead. I'm still working on which macron to use. alban1 suggests using U+0304 (Combining Macron) or U+0305 (Combining Overline). What would be wrong with using 00AF (Macron) by directly? Which gets to the question of how or where are the combining forms used? Thank y...

primel OK now here's the deal ... I read that as two problems 1. the white space between two lines and 2. the different sized space. I hope that's right so far. 1. I believe you eliminate the white space (line) between lines of text by making the difference between the (win ascent + win descent) to ...

Hello MaMarty2. I may not be of any help as I'm gonna say No! I hope I'm right and don't lead you astray! Font Creator Program uses curves and points and black and white to form glyphs or characters. A group of points forms a character. 1. At one level, the FCP process is to edit a single character ...

I don't know what QNX(RTOS) is, but I do know fonts!! (A little anyway). I'm confused by what you say The "space" glyph is a bit higher then all other glyphs but it should to be the same. Since in Windows all glyphs share height and depth characteristics (Win Ascent/Win Descent), but not w...

This post has been around for some time without a response so I will start. I don't have detailed knowledge of some of the questions you posed My favorite method of learning how to do things is to see what others have done before. Thus, in this case find a monospaced font such as these from: Copyrig...

Hello Alban - welcome to Font Creator. (Now Go Vote!) You are interested in only 1 character so it might be better to add it to a symbol font (Wingdings, dingbats or something you use). It would pick up their characteristics and would be readily available to any application using standard applicatio...

(I'm not sure I should respond since you didn't like my last msg...) 1. Did you see your new characters when you were creating the Word document? That is, did they display on your monitor as you wished? If they were wrong, it would have saved as wrong of course. If they didn't display correctly, you...

In this same Support category, Dave Crosby references the CNet review site: http://www.download.com/ which allows user comments and ratings about Font Creator. When you get to that page, use their Search function for Font Creator. It will bring it to the top of a page and show **14** reviews (up fro...

I bow to the superior knowledge! Good thing I said I was already at my cusp!! Of course, Postscript names are for us, not the computers. However: to test out the rest of my answer, I drew the Qcaron glyph and named it. I put the hex character code (01CD) into fcppreview.txt and could see it when I d...
