Font not showing up in applications
I use Windows ME. I have found that the situation, which you describe, arises when I have deleted a redundant version of a font in the Windows Fonts folder in order to install, from FCP3, a newer version of the same font. It does not show up as a choice in Windows applications nor does it show up in...

Importing/pasting
I fear that you are asking the impossible of FCP3. No amount of resizing or resampling in an image editing program can make a 16 x 16 pixel image suitable for importing or pasting into the edit window of FCP3. The image is far too small as a starting point.

Beat me to it Erwin! Gnash! One answer I knew as well. Heigh ho! I had the same problem because fonts for children require longer ascenders and descenders. The answer lies in Format/Settings/Windows page and alter the value in the WinDescent field to what you wish. I also went back to the Header tab...

I assume that you wish to make a cursive (joined up) handwriting font. What I suggest at the moment is that you do not give up. It is a satisfying thing in the end. The best I can suggest at the moment is that you open an installed font such as Brush Script, Lucida Handwriting Italic or Mistral and ...

Bhikkhu, This is the position in which I finally ended up. If this is placed in the samples file it can be dragged into any Edit window and indeed it can be copied and pasted to obtain a second guide line with another slope. Works well. Thanks again, Joe. http://forum.high-logic.com/postedimages/dia...

Bhikkhu, What an excellent hint. I have deloped this a bit. Make a triangle at the bottom, below the descender boundary: Put a point. Go left using Ctrl. Put a point. Go down using Ctrl. Put a point. Go exactly to the first point. Put another point. Go to the top, above the ascender boundary at an a...

Multiplicity of points.
When I Copy and Paste a scanned image into an Edit window I end up with a glyph which, on activating Points mode, has hundreds of points, faithfully reproducing every imperfection in an original hand-drawn character. No matter what scanner settings I use the result is the same. How can I smooth the ...

Strike through
Hello all, I wish to strike through (or cross out in UK parlance) upper case characters, not with a horizontal stroke but with a slanting stroke rather like a forward slash. Does anyone know how the mechanism of strike through works? My efforts so far have been successful but clumsy and virtually un...

Hello again vaneger, In my Help file in FCP 3.1 it says that to import files they should be between 100x100 and 500x500 *pixels*. Larger files than this may cause problems. If you have a symbol larger that this then you need to use the Copy to Clipboard option and paste into an Edit window. You did ...

Hello, You have exactly the right application to do what you wish but things must be done beforehand. Each symbol must be isolated. You say that the symbols are all in one bitmap file. You need another application which has graphics capabilities to isoate one symbol by cropping and saving this symbo...
