40 whitespaces

As Dick Pape explained to you, when you run Autometrics, the process automatically places 40 whitespaces on each side of the glyph. You have to select “Fixed” instead of “Calculated” to change this. Or, after you paste characters into glyph edit windows, saving the font will move the glyphs to the 0...

Space Glyph

I lead you astray! I just requested that Erwin add a box allowing us to de-select this character, and THEN remembered seeing a "<" on the Autometrics window. I experimented and found that my request is NOT necessary! Go to Tools, Autometrics, >>, select the space glyph, < to remove it and ...

"Guidlines"

It IS a fantastic program! Your only problem now is NOMENCLATURE. Getting that down only comes with using the program, studying, and asking questions. That “Left guideline” is actually the Left Bearing of the glyph. Your glyph CAN extend to the left of it, but will intrude into the previous glyph sp...

E

Thought Provoking! As for "E," I first thought about "e" - the base of the system of natural logarithms. In physics, "E" is reserved for Electrical field strength, but " E " is used for Total Energy; illuminance, or amount of illumination; Young modulus of ela...

Altering Existing Fonts

Altering Existing Fonts There are legal problems with altering other people's fonts without their permission, especially those of large corporations with lots of lawyers. A safe way to avoid this If you would like to build your own Font Collection, is to make sure you have a sub folder in your Pers...

PANOSE Your Fonts

PANOSE your fonts  Now that you've built your new font, Why not give it some extra luster? Do you ever get frustrated searching through your collection for just the right font? Do you need/want a sorting or classification scheme for your font collection? There have been many machinations prop...

I would suggest selecting a spare glyph editing window somewhere other than those you will be using (0-9, A-Z, a-z) and drag in the circle glyph from the left side of the screen. When you have it the size you want, copy it to the clip board, then paste it and move to the desired places until you hav...
