Re: Newbie question about font modification
If Adobe Illustrator can do it, then install the font, format a full alphabet with the font in Illustrator, convert to curves, do the scaling, then copy/paste each letter to FontCreator, or export each letter or a group of letters as a PDF file and import those. If you do the first part for abc ABC,...

Re: Newbie question about font modification
This is not practical for hundreds of dots, but for a dozen or so in each glyph it might feasible: Open the glyph edit window Show the Transform Toolbar Select the scale tab Lock the aspect ratio Select one of the dots Set the scale to 10% Click "Apply" Select the next dot Click "Appl...

Re: Scanning does not work
Only the developer can answer your question properly. Meanwhile, you can use any other application like IrfanView that does work with your scanner, save the scan to disk, and load that into Scanahand. There are so many scanners that it would be impossible to test all of them with Scanahand. You coul...

Re: Show file locations
This can be done automatically. Create groups after importing fonts to the library:Dave Crosby wrote:That is my present free-time job, moving folders into groups. Perhaps in a couple of months . . .
Bug: The text label on the dialogue is too small to show the whole text.

Re: Import .AI (Export from CorelDraw14) Size Issue
I was able to open the files in CorelDraw 9, and all seem to be drawn on A4. The images are not all the same size on the page. If I drag them into FontCreator they are all imported at the same size, so I can confirm the problem. We will have to wait for Erwin or Leon to tell us what the problem is.

Re: 'Edit in Font Creator' box greyed out in Scanahand
The button should be greyed out unless you have:
- Loaded a filled in template
- Generated a font
- Saved it to disk

Re: Import .AI (Export from CorelDraw14) Size Issue
I doubt if this is a bug. See this thread . The images need to use the same paper size to be imported at the same proportions. It will probably help if you can zip a few sample AI files, and attach them to the forum. After importing, all glyphs can be resized and moved using the glyph transform wiza...

Re: Make Empty
Does this mean that there is no way of copying a multiple selection of glyphs from one font A to another font B while maintaining the positions of the sidebearings. Ideally the sidebearings in A would be copied but retaining the sidebearings in font B would also be better than nothing. The default ...

Re: create font with two color
That's not possible. Truetype fonts are strictly monochrome.
Use a desktop publishing program or word-processor to add coloured fills and outlines to text.

Re: Make Empty
Yes. Selecting the glyph (in the glyph overview) and pressing delete would delete the glyph from the font entirely and remove its mappings, make empty merely deletes the contours it contains. If you select the contours in the glyph edit window and press delete, that doesn't affect the side-bearings,...

Using the Free Draw Tool
The Free Draw Tool is new in FontCreator 6.5. It is available in both the Professional Edition and the Home Edition. Re: Barcode font too big
Truetype fonts don't have any "native" point size. They are scalable vectors. Changing the funits/em value will make no difference at all. What you can do is scale the glyphs down by about 75% using the glyph transform wizard (Professional Edition) or the Transform toolbar (Home Edition) s...

Maybe you toggled it off with the icon to the left of the Font Preview drop list?
