Qualymer font

Post by melodyofheaven »

I started making a font that was a little more traditional and plain compared to some of my other more casual/artistic fonts. I have not started any kerning yet, and I would like to know more about it. I dont know where to start with kerning. Should I kern each letter pair individually, or use the auto-kern function? I am bound to miss some pairs if I do it all manually. Any suggestions?

I know you can use pairs from the kerning file. Instead, I started working on the kerning from the automatic wizard, then corrected/added them manually.

I also sliced some of the width from the 'f' like the 'r'.

Here is what I came up with:Image

Any input would be appreciated.
