Invention font

Post by William »

Some readers may remember the pdf document about the Invention font which has been available on the web for some time.

http://www.users.globalnet.co.uk/~ngo/Invention.PDF

The font was not complete and had not been uploaded to the web.

Recently, I was pleased to find an earlier version of the font on a floppy disc. It had all of the lowercase and all but five of the capitals shown in the above mentioned pdf document.

Using the designs in the pdf and FontCreator the artwork of the font has been conserved to its previous stage and the task of completing the font started.

The conserved incomplete font has been uploaded to the web.

The description field of the font has the following text.

quote

This font was conserved using FontCreator 5.5 from High-Logic.com

The lowercase, full stop, notdef, STAFF, space and some of the capitals were originally produced using the Softy program.

end quote

The six capitals for which new glyphs needed to be drawn using the designs in the Invention.pdf document were as follows.

D K L Q W Z
