Release v2.0 of the Hebrew Font Shuneet is now available from my web site. This free font features Unicode characters, True Type glyphs and OpenType layout. Version 2.0 contains three styles named Classic, Oblique and Square each in regular and bold weights as shown below.

A new feature is that the Classic style now comes in seven weights as shown below.

The weights are Light, Thin, Book, Medium, Demi, Bold and Heavy.

All of these fonts have a matching Latin character set which has a similar style and weight to the Hebrew but is designed to be a little less dominant on the page.

I'm happy to see all these fonts coming together as a family after years of work! :)

On my web site you can see examples of how the fonts may be used.

Hello,

my name is Michael and I’m on the search for some help creating Hebrew fonts. I have bought the Font- creator and before I start I would like to know if there are any special settings I have to consider , due to the right to left writing.
I would really appreciate it if you could help me 

Thank you !!!

Michael Kaner,
The first thing to do is to make sure you computer works well with existing Hebrew fonts. Have a look at my FAQ:
http://hebrew-font-shuneet.com/font/faq.html
You need to be able to display existing Hebrew text - being able to enter Hebrew via the keyboard is less important. My advice to beginners is always the same - take in existing Hebrew font that works, change the name of the font to 'Kaner Hebrew' or some other name and then modify the letters to be your own design. Note that if you change the design of ALL the letters - both Hebrew and Latin it will no longer be the same font so you are not stealing the font. If you change only the Hebrew, make sure the font you use is public domain.

The key thing is to make sure you back up your work frequently so you are always using a font that works! This approach is much easier than starting from scratch and trying to to understand the innumerable settings.
Good luck,
Mike
