1. Download new fonts, Check out with MainType. Find a glyph filled with "dark matter."
2. Right click on the offending font and open it with Font Creator. go to the offending glyph, select the problem contour and reverse it.
Deselect the font in MainType so it won't interfere with Save, Save repaired font with Font Creator.
In mere seconds the impossible is done.
