Hello,
I was looking through MainType (2.1.1) for a good typeface with small caps, text figures, the lot of enhanced features. One that I thought should have them is Palatino Linotype in OpenType, yet none of these characters are apparent in MainType. However, when I looked at the Glyph panel in InDesign CS4, all of these characters showed up, along with a few extra ligatures and some other characters. Is there something I missed, or something I need to do to deliver these characters in MainType?
My machine: PC running WinXP.
Thanks,
Steve Sprague

Re: OpenType characters missing?
No, you're not missing anything. MainType doesn't display the glyphs that use OpenType glyph substitutions because they are not mapped.
You could try my Pali font instead. It has OpenType features, but I also map the Small Caps glyphs so that I can use them in programs that don't support OpenType features.
