Windows 7 limited account

Post by jjane45 »

The following works perfectly under windows XP

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\Current Version\Type 1 Installer\Type 1 Fonts
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\Current Version\Fonts
So far, this has appeared to work for me!
So far in Windows 7 ultimate I granted everyone permission for the program folder itself and
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\Current Version\Fonts
The key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\Current Version\Type 1 Installer\Type 1 Fonts no longer exists...
Still, in a limited account mere launching of Maintype requires Administrator login
What other permissions are necessary, please? :)

Problem solved by disabling UAC in control panel. Didn't test the type 1 fonts but I can live without them.
I also granted permission to many fonts registries in regedit, not sure if it played a role BUT it's working!!
