UAC-problem

Post by 72dpi »

Hi,
I'm on 64 bit Windows 7 and every time I start MainType I get the UAC dialog "Do you want to allow the following program to make changes to this computer?". Can you please make the necessary changes in your code so this goes away? I run a bunch of other 32 bit applications on my system, and about 95 % of them are able to run without the dialog, so I don't see why MainType should be any different.

Perhaps not a super big deal, but when I'm working as a professional graphic designer I prefer my system and workflow to be as smooth as possible.

MainType needs write access to the registry in a key reserved by windows. The only way to get write access is to either elevate MainType when needed, or elevate during startup. We chose the latter because it requires you to only elevate once.
