Font name appears in red.

Post by Millard Schumaker »

I only recently purchased a copy of MainType. So far, so good. Maintype is mostly easy to understand and does what I want done. I have one question: in the main box which shows the name of each font, quite a few of the font names appear in red rather than black. The handbook mentions the significance of a red ball-shaped symbol in the column to the left of the name, but I find no mention of the name itself appearing in red rather than black.

In my case many of the fonts listed in the Library (and mine is a very large Library) are printed in red but none of the ball-shaped symbols are. I would be pleased were someone to explain to me what the red titles signify.

Thank you.

If the font preview string contains any characters that are not present in a particular font, that font is highlighted in red.
