Printing problem "access violation"

Post by highab »

I can't print or print preview from main type.

I am running Vista 64bit from the administrator account.

I get the following error message:

Code: Select all

access violation at 005EB92E in module "mainType.exe". Read of address 00000028

I've never seen this happen. I've contacted you about this, and hope that solves the issue.

Also having access violations for print & print preview

Post by Kirsty Haining »

I've just installed an evaluation copy of MainType. I'm running Windows 64-bit and when I try to print (or print preview) I get the same error meesage about the access violation in mainType.exe module, read address of 00000028.

Has this problem been resolved?

I also don't seem to be able to select a different printer (I wanted to try printing PDF), but nothing happens and I only get the default printer as a choice.

Thank you for your help.

Is their no cure, I would like to purchase but being unable to print would for sure hinder it.

vista 64bit, installed 2.1.1, can not change printers, can not print due to access violation.

If you need more details, please let me know.

Hi emptymug,

Unfortunately we haven't taken the time to look into this issue yet. We are about to release Scanahand version 2, then we'll most likely start working on MainType 3. Although it will be a major release (when you look at the version), we have no major enhancements or lots of new features on it's to-do list. Needless to say we'll do our best to fix all known bugs.
