fonts disappear

I just purchased this last night and began grouping my fonts. All fonts showed up initially, but after grouping, some just disappeared. Their images were no longer available and the size reads 0. I went to the groups window and at least one of them reappeared in its type face, but was still not visible in the loaded fonts window. I stopped working on grouping till I see whether I can resolve this issue. It would be disastrous to lose my fonts. Please let me know if anyone else has had this issue. I am working on a laptop, which I never connect to the web. It is Vista platform, and at the time, was unregistered. I will register today and see if anything changes. Thanks.
