Restart MainType — A Cosmetic Bug [Solved/Closed]

Post by Bhikkhu Pesala »

Just another little problem with not enough space being allowed on the dialogues for larger fonts.

The button could be moved down a bit — there is plenty of space.

More irritating, is that every time I patch MainType it adds items to my Start menu, and I have to delete them again. It it remembering my choice from the first install of MainType 4, or will it do this regardless?

I only use the Start menu for rarely used programs — for others I use a Windows Taskbar Icon, or a shortcut to launch them from within Opera, e.g.

M, T = Execute program, "C:\Program Files\High-Logic\MainType4\MainType.exe"

We'll fix it with the next upcoming release. Then you'll also see some more text right below the button..

I'm afraid that's something we can't change. It it within the list of recently used software, or within the High-Logic MainType group sub-list?

Its on the All Programs menu on the Start Menu.

You're not alone — Serif programs do that too after patching them.

That's odd, as I don't see anything related to MainType there. Maybe I'm missing something here. Can you provide a screenshot?

Start Menu Items are still being added again after a program update.

I've looked into this, but I'm afraid there is no way to fix without changing the behavior of the installer, and that is something I don't want to do.

Maybe we have to rethink all icons/shortcuts, if we have more experience with Window 8.
