WebRoot shows trojan [Closed]

Post by DivaMom96 »

Hi. Tried reinstalling MainType and WebRoot prevented the program from being installed stating that there was a trojan. What do I do?

Assuming that you downloaded MainType from the High-Logic site, and not some dodgy third-party site, report the false positive to Web Root.

That explains why we don't like webroot, as we only hear about it when it interferes with our software.

Bhikkhu Pesala - I did download from High Logic. Thanks - I will report to webroot and see what happens.

Erwin Denissen - Your opinion of WebRoot did not help my problem ...

I understand, but over the years several customers have reported they couldn't use our software because of web root. People happily pay them as they think it is a good piece of software, but we've only heard about it due to all the problems it causes.

If you have trouble due to web root, talk to them.

For what it's worth, we've helped people since 2013 by telling them to disable and/or uninstall webroot, and so far that seems to solve their problems. So disable it and let us know your results.
