2 Fonts acting differently

Post by Laurie »

I have entered two separate hand-drawn font designs yet one appears to be more of a grey color at 12 points than any other existing installed font that previews more along being black at 12 points. Could the difference in color be caused by the size of the nib? I'm using all black ink pens. Can someone help?
Thanks!
Laurie

The difference is due to lack of hinting. (See FAQ) Hinting improves font display on screen especially at small sizes because there are very few pixels in thin strokes. When printing, all character hinting is discarded.

How can one go about hinting a font? Laurie have you tried it yet?
