Font Character can't be enlarged beyond 185
I created a font using symbols and noticed some of the symbols can be enlarged to any value but I have one that can't be enlarged beyond 185 pts. I tried it in several different programs and if I try to make the symbol bigger than 185pts I just disappears. Any ideas of what I could be doing wrong?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Some more information could help.
Is it a complex outline?

Sorry, I'm new to this software so some things are a little above my knowledge for now.
It's not really an outline but it is a complex image. All the images I have done to this point have been simple shapes and handwriting. The one that is causing me problems is a picture I downloaded and converted it to a black and white drawing in photoshop.

Although not strictly defined, there are limits to what a font rasterizer can handle, so I guess you need to reduce the complexity.

Is there any information I can research to make sure I am within the capabilities of the rasterizer?

Is there a way to tell font creator not to draw as many points?

You can replace the original glyph with a screen capture, as described here.michaeldove@aol.com wrote:Is there a way to tell font creator not to draw as many points?

If you're importing a bitmap, there are option on the Import Picture dialogue to smooth the outlines more. If you use the Pixels mode you will get a lot more points.michaeldove@aol.com wrote:Is there a way to tell font creator not to draw as many points?

Re: Font Character can't be enlarged beyond 185
The way I read the question is that the glyph is correct and viewable until 185 pts then it goes away.
Not sure I've experienced an instance where a smaller image cannot be enlarged beyond any value. I thought the rasticizers simply expand the distance between two nodes with an increase in the font point size. The image doesn't get more complicated causing it to fail.
I have dealt with very complicated images (~32k nodes) which though slow will enlarge to the limit of the application, far larger than 185 pts.

I suspect what is too complex depends on your Windows version, but also on the font size as well as your hardware (memory, video card). Even the hinting might be the cause of the problem, so you could also try without hinting.
To find out if less complex outlines do work, just backup your font, and start removing contours and test if the character continue to show with large font sizes.
