Postscript Outlined Font Embolden Itself

Post by Dichi »

I can't seem to find this solution on the internet so I made a new topic here.

I have problem on exporting font with postscript outline. When I use the font in Microsoft Word or on the web, it looks like the font embolden itself.

Here what it looks like in the font preview window :

Here what it looks like in Microsoft Word :

Here what it looks like in Microsoft Word, with TrueType outline :

Any solution? Thanks!

It might be due to differences in the rasterizer, but maybe it is related to the font weight.

This topic might be related:
For a font which is "regular" (not style-linked as the bold version of something else), any weightclass value from 250 to 1000 seems to work.

Having a weightclass of 100 or 200 can result in a "smear bold" or (unintentionally) returning the style-linked bold.
Can you let us know if the font weight is set to 250 or lower?

What information should I provide?
Oh, and I tried to apply postscript outlines to another font and it still defaults itself to bold.

[EDIT] Yes, I set it to 100 (thin) and setting the number to 250 magically changes the font into proper looks! Thank you so much!
