Hi. I am working on an Arabic font and I have a question about justification alternates.
In InDesign there is a text applies right justify. It is 5 lines for example. When I apply justification alternates it becomes 6 or more lines. Isn't there any option to use justification alternates with saving the count of lines, and not applied changing all justification alternated glyphs and only some apply and justify the line. I want only want justify free space with one or two alternates. You can see in attachment.

Re: About Justification Alternates
It might be possible if you keep the advance width of the justification alternates equal to the original glyphs. You also need to ensure other positioning features (e.g. pair positioning) match as well.
But I think you need to adjust the design of the justification alternates, which is probably not what you want.
