An interesting experiment?

Post by William »

I have tried what I feel is an interesting experiment and wonder if some readers might like to try the experiment themselves.

One needs to use Microsoft WordPad.

The experiment is to produce the following Esperanto question between double quotation marks in WordPad in the Poetry August font by clicking on the following three links to recently published items (choosing Open for the font) and then using the typecase_ pdfs as a source of characters using copy and paste from a pdf to WordPad. The required quotation marks are the 66-like item and the 99-like item. The sentence means “Is it snowing?” as if it were being spoken as speech within a story.

“Ĉu neĝas?”

Each link opens in a new window, so there may be four instantiations of your browser open if you try the experiment.

I did have the Poetry August font already installed, though I uninstalled it so as to try the experiment.

I was previously aware that using the fontviewer temporarily installs a font, but I did not know that such installation works directly from the web as well.

I found it an interesting experience as the typecase_ pdfs use my Quest text font yet the final result is in the Poetry August font.

To me, it is as if the whole experience is greater than the sum of the parts.

Readers who try the experiment are invited to post about their experience please.
