Bringing an old font up to date

I have an old font that I like, but it's age is showing. One of the glyphs doesn't display correctly, another one doesn't display at all in some Windows versions etc. Can you point me to someone who I can turn to for bringing the font up to date (whatever that involves besides solving the problems I mentioned)? Someone who has experience in such work.
