Uploading of a file with suffix .htm as an attachment

Post by William »

I have been trying to upload a file with a suffix of .htm as an attachment to a post, but the forum will not accept an attachment with a .htm suffix.

This would be a very useful facility for adding files in relation to the OpenType experiments using Forefox 3.0.8.

Could you possibly consider adding the suffix .htm to the list of permitted suffices for attachments please?

We are not changing our upload policy. Even if we allowed this, you wouldn't be able to view the uploaded page. It would be a serious security issue.

I wanted to upload a small HTML file similar to the one transcribed in the following post, so that readers could easily download the file to local storage and then try displaying it in Firefox 3.0.8.

I do not know much about security issues so had not realized that it would be a security issue.
