font with only one glyph

Postby Martino® » Tue Mar 31, 2009 9:55 am

Hallo,
how do I make one font formed with only one glyph?
My glyph is black with transparent background.
For example: a with one circle in .png format http://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Anarchy-symbol.svg

Many thanks
Ciao from Italy

  1. File, New, Don't include outlines, Name your font
  2. Copy the image to the clipboard
  3. Paste into the glyph you wish to assign it to, e.g. Capital A
  4. Edit, Select incomplete, Delete
  5. Save the font and install it.

You might also need:

Format/Settings/Metrics Calculate, Calculate, OK
Tools/Autometrics/>>/Next/Finish
Resize .notdef image to be smaller than other glyph.

Test Glyph to make sure it displays correctly.
