SHX font autocad 2 TTF

OK, uh, hi all,
Question, I want to create a TTF font of an autocad shx font. Now what I'd like to know is how, I'm thinking of breaking down the shx font to is primitives as a shp file which is just lines, but how would I bring this in so I could trace over it. Oh, by the way, I'm the author of the shx font, so there is no copywright infringment, I'm just trying to make it better.

I am not an Autocad user, but I guess your best route would be to export each character as a PDF file e.g. from ! 033.pdf to z 126.pdf then drag and drop those files from Windows Explorer into a new font.
