Some of my characters are not smooth when publishing
Some of my characters are not smooth when publishing
When I am working on Font Creator file, all my Glyphs are smooth & perfect. But when I'm typing on Illustrator or any other software, some of my glyphs are not smooth. They cracked in some place. Specially in Italic fonts. Please help me to solve this issue.

It is probably a hinting issue. Are you exporting to Truetype outlines or Postscript outlines? The latter has no hinting.

This is the settings I used. How it should be to solve this issue?

It is best to use the most recent version of FontCreator as it comes with numerous improvements.
Are the glyph outlines made out of cubic curves?

I am using version 13. Any solution for this situation? Are these output settings correct?

Well, it is hard to tell why the output has these kinks. Maybe version 14 solves the problem. Do send us the project file and we will will send you an FC14 export so you can try it.

Re: Some of my characters are not smooth when publishing
The font outlines are made out of cubic curves and since you export with TrueType based outlines, the outlines are converted from cubic to quadratic. This conversion does result is minor changes of the outlines and in this case it is noticeable when you use the font at large sizes.
Currently there is no way to manually set the tolerance for such conversion, but if more people think it helps, we will consider adding such option.

Another way around this would be to convert the outlines to quadratic in Font Creator and then deal with any lumps and bumps before exporting the font.

Is there a way to do that globally?convert the outlines to quadratic in Font Creator

Export the font with quadratic curves, open the exported font, copy/paste the glyphs back into the original font.
