Post by 1stAvenue »

Hi,

after installing MainType12 Pro some Windows icons are missing - see screenshot.
Is there suddenly a system font missing? What can I do?

thanks for help

I know Windows once used a hidden symbol font named Marlett to display parts of the user interface.

This is how is shows on my system:

Maybe you accidentally uninstalled a font that is used by Windows, but I am not sure if the icons come from a font or from images like .ico or .png files. If the glyphs are from a font, then Segoe Fluent Icons comes close, but not close enough in my opinion.

You could try to open this folder in Windows file explorer:
C:\Windows\Fonts

That sometimes triggers Windows to rebuild the font cache and/or to reinstall missing system fonts.
