It is an old version. Which version of FontCreator are you using?
14.0.0.2901 was the latest build from the previous version. FontCreator 15 is now available.

I'm using version 15.
However, it still doesn't seem to be possible to use that feature by default.

You can use "Rebuild composite out of formula" button for this.
