Cut Contours at 45 degrees, and Rotate at Regular Intervals
Cut Contours at 45 degrees, and Rotate at Regular Intervals
One more, while I'm here! I would really appreciate if the Cut Contours tool would stop at 45 degrees as well as 90 when you hold Shift.
Similarly, it would be cool if the manual rotation (using the mouse) would function a similar way (holding Shift to stop it every 45 degrees).

Remember that rotating glyphs moves points outside the bounding box and that produces warning point errors.

45 degree angles added to Knife tool+SHIFT
Hi
I would like to see the four 45 degree angle variations added to the four orthogonal angles you get when you hold SHIFT and use the knife tool.
This would be perfect for cutting circles into G, C, and S, c, and e characters, for example.
Thanks!

Re: 45 degree angles added to Knife tool+SHIFT
I suggest that to constrain the angle by increments of 15° would be more useful. That would offer users the option of cutting by 15°, 30° 45°, 60°, or 75° as well as the current 90° increments.

Excellent enhancement. We will add support for 15 degree angle variations with the next upcoming major release.

15, 30, or 45 degree increments added to SHIFT+Rotate
Hi there
Here's a feature from Photoshop that is absent from the Glyph window Contour Mode click transform rotate feature, the one that you activate by clicking on a shape twice, and then grabbing a corner:
15, 30, or 45 degree increments when holding the SHIFT key.
Right now you can rotate to any angle, it's just not quantized.
Thanks in advance!

That would be a worthwhile improvement, but you can already do this using the Rotate tab on the Transform Toolbar.

While I agree with you in technical terms, why did other vector-handling softwares make it standard so long ago?

The next version will support cutting with the knife tool and rotation of contours constrained by angles of 15°
