I'm trying to using some alternate characters in Inkscape and the "copy to clipboard" option is greyed out so I can't choose my character. When I paste it does nothing. It literally worked one minute and not the next. I've googled it, tried some command functions and nothing. Any suggestions?

Click on the Unicode icon at top left of the Character Panel.

MainType needs a Unicode code-point to copy the glyph.
