I suggest in the glyph edit window, in the background, to place a hand-drawn sketch of the symbol. So that this sketch can be moved for better positioning or lock it from accidental movement inside the window, or remove its visibility.It would be convenient to outline the outline of the symbol with curves.
A preliminary sketch is created on paper and converted into digital format png, jpeg.

This feature is already available. See Background Image Toolbar in help. You can open any image in the toolbar, and scale and position it as needed.

I could not find this function myself in the process of studying. It seems comfortable to me. Thank you for your reply.
