Font weight not showing in order (in Adobe dropdowns)

Post by jedbadda »

I can't figure out why the fonts in this family aren't showing up in order of weight in app dropdowns (Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop) like my other fonts. I've tried to set up the Properties correctly so they show up as: 1. Regular, 2. Bold, 3. Extra Bold.

It doesn't make any sense why in the dropdown (Adobe Illustrator CS5), it is in the following order:

1. Extra Bold
2. Regular
3. Bold

I've tried tweaking every setting and can't get it to work, it's driving me nuts.

See screenshot below with dropdown and my font settings. What am I missing here?

It might also depend on values on the Extended page. Not likely, but is might even rely on Panose settings.

Here are my Extended settings, any thoughts? What are Panose settings?

Looks fine, so I don't think there is an issue here.

Panose is located on the Characteristics page. If set, you can also provide weight, but I honestly don't know if it affects the order in Adobe software.

Better also check if the order is correct in more recent versions of Illustrator and Photoshop or are you already using the latest versions?
