Re: Units used in bold, thin and hollow transformations

And what is the reason for Glyph Transform not being undoable, which seems somewhat silly (sorry to say)? The amount of memory required to store the undo information can be way too big. I'm a little puzzled why the Validation wizard can be set to detect and fix errors and be undoable, but a glyph t...

Re: Toolbar features

I guess I just got used to it, but it still happens to me sometimes. Double-clicking on a detached toolbar title bar will redock it quickly. I don't move them so far as to detach them...they just move so that there are gaps between toolbars. Eventually, this leads to icons being not where my muscle...

Scaling wizard

1. Choose a glyph. 2. Choose another glyph (from the same or a different font). 3. Generate a glyph transformer script that will scale the second glyph to have the same bounding box and advance width as the first glyph. Where I use this is sort of thing right now for the same fonts that are from dif...

Toolbar Features

I am constantly moving my toolbars around because I hit the space between two icons and click and drag slightly. It would be really nice if there was a "lock the toolbars" feature. Also, a way to remove items from toolbars would be nice. There are a few things on toolbars that I don't use often enou...

Re: Snap to common angles for measure and cut contours tools

Bhikkhu Pesala wrote:The cut contours tool already does that by holding down Shift. It constrains the cut by increments of 15°
I'll have to try again. The last time I did a cut where I specifically wanted it to be at 45°, I couldn't get that to work, so I assumed it wasn't a feature.

Snap to common angles for measure and cut contours tools

It would be nice if we could do something like hold down the "Shift" or "Ctrl" key when we use the measure or cut contours tools to constrain the generated line to common angles (like every 45°).

PANOSE wizard

After using the "measure" tool to get measurements to plug into the spreadsheet I created that generates PANOSE strings that can be pasted into the font information dialog, I think it wouldn't be overly difficult to provide a wizard that would make the measurements even easier, and then display a re...

Re: Transform Wizard Scripts - History

There are times when I am constantly swapping scripts, Usually just two or three. It would be nice if there were three or four buttons at the bottom of the dialog box which were assigned to the last three or four scripts run (or greyed out if no scripts have been run yet). The buttons could be labe...

Re: Wrong outlines loaded

This is not a bug in FontCreator. The italic flag is enabled in Font Properties. OK, so then the FontCreator bug is that the preview on FontCreator doesn't show the font in italics, like every other program does. Also, the "test current font as TTF/OTF" view doesn't show the italics. Both of these ...

Wrong outlines loaded

When opening the attached font file with FontCreator 10.1.0, the outlines are not the ones that appear to be in the font from all other ways of looking at it. Here's the font as it appears in MainType: MainTypeView.jpg And, here is it opened in FontCreator: FontCreatorView.jpg My only thought was th...

Re: PANOSE not saved correctly for Latin Symbol fonts.

Only set it for legacy Symbol fonts, otherwise your font will fail to work. OK, but that doesn't change the fact that even on fonts like that (by which you mean the normal A-Z alphabet code points are replaced with symbols that don't look like letters), the same thing happens. You should be able to...

[CLOSED] PANOSE not saved correctly for Latin Symbol fonts.

FontCreator 10.1.0 doesn't correctly save the PANOSE information for a font if the first digit is "5" (Latin Symbol/Pictorial). After you make changes to the PANOSE and set the Family Kind to "5" and click OK, it looks like the change is saved on repeated opening of the Font Properties dialog, but o...

"Extended" Font Properties not saving

No matter what you enter for "Typographic Family" and "Typographic Subfamily" on the "Extended" tab of the "Font Properties" dialog, it reverts to whatever was there before. This means that you can't set these for a new project (where they start out blank) and can't change them for an existing proje...

Re: Successive open/export cycles cause CFF outlines to change

Project files are what you should be saving and opening to make your changes. Period. I don't create my own fonts, so I can't do this. I have to start with an existing .OTF or .TTF file. Still, the load/save of outlines isn't deterministic. This means that if you lose your project file, you are com...
